lady-gaga-queen-variety.jpg

The night of the Royal Variety performance in Blackpool, Lady Gaga had the opportunity to meet the Queen and oh my what an impression she must have given! Described as wearing an Elizabethan style dress which is debatable, she was also described as toning her outrageous style for the Queen...wow if this is toning down you can imagine what she normally wears but, Lady Gaga certainly made a statement. God knows why she picked this outfit they seem to get more extravagant every time we see her but at least it wasn't like her usual skimpy clothes considering she was meeting the Queen.

For her performance Lady Gaga was going to perform a 'suicidal act' in which she pretends to stab herself and fake blood would appear, luckily she was banned from doing this as it wasn't appropriate for the show.....hmm i wonder why?

Apparently she was also told not to speak unless she was spoken to, who knows what she may have said to the Queen otherwise.

Apart from Lady Gaga other acts such as Alexandra Burke, Miley Cyrus and Peter Kay performed.

New Moon

Tonight me and a few of my housemates went to see the new Twilight series...New Moon! Obviously it was just us girls from my house who went to see it. It was still packed in the cinema considering it had been out a a little while already. The whole cinema was mainly filled with teenage girls, well no surprise there really.
This film was certainly not as good as the first one which is normal for films. It's not hard to work out why this film was such an attraction with Jacob (Taylor
Lautner) spending most of the film stripped to the waist and with his new muscly body (not that I'm complaining). It also contains slightly weird humour as well but i have to say it did make us laugh but this film doesn't seem to focus on the characters like it did in the first film.
This film seems to have used all the typical conventions to try and grab girls attention but i suppose u can't blame them, girls were certainly keen to see this film especially when Edward (Robert
Pattinson) is in it. To be honest I really don't see the obsession with Edward but was quite surprised when he wasn't in much of the film but according to the book this is what happens but its always different when u watch the story than when you read it and the majority of the time the book is better.
However, as much as i may have been criticising the film i actually did really enjoy it and am looking forward to the next one.

X Factor

On Sunday, the public finally decided that the duo John and Edward were no longer good enough for the show anymore and were voted off. How they were kept on for this amount of time is astonishing. I have to say, although they kept the audience entertained every week with the out going song choices they sang picked by Louis Walsh. There has been so many articles about how the duo shouldn't be performing and how they are the most annoying contestants that have ever appeared on the show...Yet its us who have been keeping them in!! Suspicions have also occurred as it is believed that the two were picked just to keep the ratings up for the show but unfortunately we will never know the truth and will be kept as a rumour.
Although many people dislike the twins as they have hardly any talent it seems that many people were still sad to see them go as you cant deny, they were entertaining but as we all know it is meant to be a singing competition so this week it was definitely their time to go.

Jimmy Choo at H&M...?

Girls who love their shoes im sure will all love Jimmy Choo but.....being at H&M is quite random! Handing out wristbands to the first 160 people in line which clarifies a time slot for shopping is a bit over the top just for some shoes, but i suppose there is all the clothing line aswell to have a look through.
The prices are cheaper so overall it's a good thing for everyone as the boots are up to £180 however paying for the real deal a pair of boots could be up to £2000! Well its with a doubt that H&M on saturday will be packed with hundreds well maybe more of keen Jimmy Choo fans.

CARNAGE!!

Carnage is explained as being one of the best nights out for students and there not wrong it was a good night out however, being out in Guildford isn't exactly being out in Brighton or somewhere like Manchester, but all my housemates made the most of it as it was our first proper night out together and made a change from going out to the Student union which is just a usual night out for us. As it was doctor's and nurses fancy dress we all made the effort to customise our carnage tops and wear dressing up accessories probably looking silly but it was fun at the time. Everyone ended up at Harpers in Guildford which was packed but was quite annoying as everyone was wearing the same top so was really hard to find people. Nights like these definitely aren't cheap but are worth it! The next one is Student Traffic where there will be an update later on.

Shock of Stephen Gately.

When looking at the news yesterday i was shocked to hear about the death of Stephen Gately! Apparently he was found on his living room sofa in his appartment by a friend they had met on holiday and also by Stephen's partner, Andy Cowles. He was on holiday in Majorca with his partner. Police have yet to confirm what the cause of death is however, there were claims of him having an eight hour binge which may have caused his death but family members have dismissed this stating that he is a responsible person... so we dont know the full facts.
The rest of the Boyzone members flew out to Majorca to show their support and were all devastated by the loss.
Even though I wasn't a huge fan of Boyzone when I was younger they were still a good group which many people loved and being only 33 aswell makes it even more shocking.

Victoria at London Fashion Week

New York's Fashion week featured Victoria Beckham's new collection this week and we can now say that she has finally been accepted into the Fashion industry which is something she has always wanted to do but whether she'll keep it up we'll have to wait and see. The ten styles which were presented are based on her own personal style. All her outfits have been made fairly conservative with the hemlines ending just below the knee including a 40's and 50's style along with it which was a look victoria was going for. Victoria Beckham also made an appearance at London's fashion week supporting the young designers. The line up consisted of Holly Fulton, Heikki Salonen and Michael Van Der Ham.

When Victoria Beckham arrived at the show wearing one of her own dresses it wasn't just the dress that was talk of the show. Many people were talkin about her size which i suppose is hard not to, but Victoria has stated that she is healthy and happy the way she is however, that could be questioned. I suppose some people can't look beyond the way she looks and always has to criticise when the reason she is at the show is to look at her clothes.

What to write!!

I dont really know what to start of with but i thought i'd best write something seeing as i created this blog a few days ago and still haven't written anything! I've never written a blog before so most of what im writing will be quite random to you all.

I've been at university now for about three weeks but it feels like a lifetime already. Living on campus is definitely the highlight of being at uni, i've met great people especially the people i'm living with! The only issue about being at uni is money it just seems to be spent on such pointless things but i suppose its all worth it in the end! The journalism course has been good so far however, not so keen on learning short hand but i'm sure i'll get used to it.....but yea i'll leave it as that for now but in future i will be posting anything which generally interests me.
